Clutch to Release Double DVD set!
Kick off World Tour!
Re-issue catalog!
2010 will prove to be the busiest calender year in the career of veteran rock band Clutch.  Building on the Top 30 Billboard chart success of 2009’s “Strange Cousins From the West” (Weathermaker Music), the Maryland based quartet will internationally issue a brand new epic DVD set called “Live at the 9:30″ in mid May. This 200 minute double disc concert film will be sold at the fan friendly price of $19.98.
Disc one features a 90 minute full length concert filmed with seven hi-definition cameras last December at Washington DC’s legendary 9:30 Club. In addition to newer fan favorites like “50,000 Unstoppable Watts” and “Let a Poor Man Be”, the concert film’s first disc includes an electifying version of the 1995 “Clutch” self titled release in it’s entirety. An audio version of the full 19 song concert will be exclusively available through iTunes on May 11th.
Disc two is the 110 minute road movie “Fortune Tellers Make a Killing Nowadays”, which takes a behind the scenes look at Clutch “on tour” city by city in 2009. This “bonus disc” is not limited to recent Clutch happennings however, as it includes rare band interviews as well as vintage never before seen footage documenting much of Clutch’s history from 1991 to the present. Both discs were directed and produced by Agent Ogden, who first worked with the band, on 2007’s “Full Fathom Five, Video Field Recordings”.
On June 4th Clutch will kick off another leg of thier 2010 worldwide headlining tour. The early summer portion takes the band through the USA, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Greece, Italy and the UK. The band’s instrumental jazz rock alter ego, The Bakerton Group will appear as one of the opening acts in   North America.  Both The Bakerton Group and Clutch will appear on the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festifval on June 11th and 12th respectively.
In support of the tourdates and the forthcoming “Live at the 9:30″ DVD, as well as the current “Strange Cousins From the West” CD, Weathermaker Music will release the new single “Let a Poor Man Be” on May 3rd, with an accompanying video clip and a rare promo only EP featuring unreleased material.
As if that’s not enough to keep this hard working rock & roll band musically busy, Clutch and Weathermaker Music are currently preparing expanded CD and vinyl re-issues of catalog pcs “From Beale Street to Oblivion”, “Robot Hive/Exodus” and “Blast Tyrant”. These three highly anticipated projects will be available digitally and physically at retail and the band’s websites on the CD/DVD format on June 22nd, August 17th and October 12th respectively.  Double vinyl versions of all three re-issues will be available on November 23rd.  Track listings are not yet available, but Weathermaker label manager Jon Nardachone hints at some very exciting details.
“The bonus content of the three re-issues will be entirely different. We’re still sifting through unreleased Clutch originals, cover songs, live audio, live video, alternate takes, etc,  One thing we know for sure is that each re-issue will have updated and upgraded artwork/packaging as well as additional music from the exact timeframe each CD was first released. This is not about tacking on a couple of unfinished demos to the end of each CD.  We’re producing these with the knowledge that Clutch fans expect something fresh, yet distinguishably representative of that moment in time.  The diehard fan will appreciate these projects in a big way.”

NEW ROUND OF CELEBRITY A-HOLES ANNOUNCED

AS THE CRACK-A-THON LOOMS EVER CLOSER

As the webTV event of the century, GWAR’s Crack-a-Thon, looms ever-closer (it begins April 16th at 7:00 pm on crackathon.tv), a final flurry of celebrity and not-so-much-so guests have been announced. Joining the already fudge-packed list will be HATEBREED lead singer and punk/metal legend Jamey Jasta, NYC performance artist and avowed weirdo Our Lady of Perpetual PMS, music producer/ medicinal marijuana activist and practicing werewolf Adam Green, and finally legendary punk pioneer Jimmy Murphy of Murphy’s Law, even though, after an initial positive affirmation via email, he won’t pick up the phone.

“For some reason I can’t get Jimmy Gestapo to confirm,” said Oderus, host of the live and free web TV event. “Maybe he’s drunk…”

THIS JUST IN!!! GWAR WILL ATTEMPT IT’S FIRST-EVER LIVE WEBCAST ON

CRACKATHON.TV, DIRECT FROM THE SLAVE PIT, TONIGHT, APRIL 8TH, AT 10:00 PM E.S.T.!!!!

“This is the first time we have plugged in all this shit.” said CRACK-A-THON host Oderus Urungus. “I hope it doesn’t explode…no, wait…I hope it does!”

The Crack-a-Thon is GWAR’s first-ever live webTV broadcast, an all singing, all dancing, all crack-crazed, all FREE event to be broadcast from the MF Gallery in Brooklyn, N.Y., April 16th and 17th from 7-12:00 pm. With guests like Andrew WK, Troma films co-founder and king of the B-movie, Lloyd Kaufman, and mop-wielding semi-hero Toxic Avenger, brains are set to be melted as Oderus Urungus and co-host Balsac the Jaws of Death stake their claim as legitimate TV talk show overlords, and establish Slave Pit TV as a force to be reckoned with in the rapidly expanding world of web television..

Sez Oderus’ “There is a lot more at stake here than trying to raise money for my drug habit, even though that’s a big part of it. I have spent 25 years on other people’s shows, appearing with everybody from Joan Rivers to Jerry Springer to Greg Gutfeld with my current gig on Fox News’ Red Eye, and I have gotten pretty fucking good at it! But with the technology of the interweb as it stands today, we have the power to create not only our own TV show, but our own fucking network! Slave Pit TV will be a voice of dickdom  in a dickless world–a 24-7 icon of filth, uncensored, unregulated, and UNREAL!”

Completely viewer-funded, Slave Pit TV will operate on money donated by their loyal viewers and sole corporate sponsor, Metal Blade Records, who are already running their own webTV station, Metal Blade TV. In fact rumors of Oderus even now producing his own webTV show for his corporate overlords and longtime sponsors at Metal Blade are completely true! More details on that to come…

The fun starts Sat. the 9th of April with a free kick-off party and display of Slave Pit art at the MF Gallery in Brooklyn, NY. Crackathon.tv will begin broadcasting at 7:00 pm that night and continue broadcasting non-stop until the end of the crack-a-thon. A small studio audience will be in attendance, and you can ensure a reserved seat will be waiting for you by donating ten measly bucks to the Crack-a-Thon at (link).

Support GWAR and the Crack-a-Thon! Go to crackathon.net for full details on how to pledge funds to Slave Pit TV (and thus ensure your entertainment future), how to reserve your own seat in the Crack-a-Thon studio audience, and how to experience the filth and the fury of this disturbing new chapter in the history of one of the most prolific and consistently awesome metal groups–the mighty GWAR!!!!!!

GUEST JAMEY JASTA

Anybody familiar with the punk and metal scenes will instantly recognize Jamey Jasta as one of the most infamous singers in either scene’s history. Jamey and his group HATEBREED have blazed a bloody trail through mosh-pits worldwide, earning the band a fanatical following of violent young skinheads willing to beat the crap out of each other (and others!) at the drop of a wig. Not content to be known as one of the biggest knuckleheads in history, Jasta has also hosted Headbangers Ball and the Golden Gods awards, and fronts the sludge metal holocaust known as KINGDOM OF SORROW. Prolific, energetic, and always controversial, Oderus welcomes Jamey to the Crack-a-Thon!

GUEST ADAM GREEN
In 1984 producer and sound engineer Adam Green quit a promising music career (working with bands like GWAR and SST’s The Alter-Natives) and embraced the spiritual. In 1991 Mr. Green was recognized as a Tulku, the reincarnation of a great Buddhist teacher, but has yet to prove that he knows anything about the actual practice of Buddhism, other than being chubby. He has excelled in the numismatic area of Tibetan history and is one the world’s foremost scholars on Tibetan coins. Recently Mr. Green has immersed himself in the Medical Marijuana movement and is amongst the vanguard of people fighting for your right to get high.

He is also a werewolf.

GUEST OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL PMS
Our Lady of Perpetual PMS is the Patron Saint of Periods and The Pride of Lower East Side. She is the ferocious ringleader of GLOB, (Gorgeous Ladies of Bloodwrestling) who wrestle in fake blood to punk rock. Her Tampon Stun Gun (PMS patent pending) intimidates enemies, losers, and her soon-to-be signature move, The Cockblocker, will help rid the world of unsavory wieners. Our Lady of Perpetual PMS is an ovarian force to be reckoned with who regularly oozes out from the kiddie pool of fake blood to explore comedy and storytelling in select strange venues. This makes her a perfect guest for the Crack-a-Thon!
