Kick Off North American Tour w/ Black Label Society and Children of Bodom

Robot Hive / Exodus Reissue In Stores Next Week / New Weathermaker Website Launch October 1st!

Maryland hard rock band Clutch is coming up on their 20th year, maintaining a consistent following with constant touring, unique wit, and fearless tendency to mix metal with genres like blues and funk. – Billboard

With over a dozen recordings, Clutch has routinely pushed itself creatively for each album. The progress has been subtle enough that the band has never been accused of abandoning its core musical ideals, yet noticeable enough to create an expectation for new sets of ideas with each new release. – Relix

Veteran rock band CLUTCH kicked off their eight week North American tour with Zakk Wylde’s Black Label Society last night in Vancouver, BC. The tour, which also features Children of Bodom will run through November 20th, and will also feature intermittant Clutch headline shows in particular cities across the USA in October and November.

The Maryland based quartet will release “Robot Hive/Exodus,” the second of three planned expanded re-issues, on September 28th in the form of a CD/DVD dual disc set. Originally released 5 years ago, Robot Hive enjoyed six-figure sales primarily due to the success of the multi-dimensional singles “Burning Beard,” “100001110101” and “Mice & Gods.” The updated 23 song set features a bonus 9 song DVD, of which the first 8 tracks were filmed on location at the 2005 Sounds of the Underground festival. The material is a blend of Robot Hive era songs and older Clutch classics like “Impetus” and “The Mob Goes Wild.” The DVD’s final track is the Jeremy Hunt produced video clip for “Burning Beard,” which ended 2005 as one of the Top 5 most played Hard Rock videos on MTV’s Headbanger’s Ball.

It should be noted that the digital version of the “Robot Hive/Exodus” reissue will contain the audio version of that same 2005 Sounds of the Underground performance. This expanded release is the second of its kind for Clutch, who also produced a dual disc version of “From Beale Street to Oblivion” on their Weathermaker Music label in July, and will do the same for 2004’s “Blast Tyrant” in the upcoming months. Plans for vinyl versions of these re-issues will be unveiled by Weathermaker at the end of the year.

In other Clutch related news, Weathermaker Music will launch their brand new interactive website ( on October 1st with a special fan poll which will result in an epic, one of a kind podcast. Exact details will be announced during the website’s launch, but fans should look forward to first class prize giveaways such as concert tickets, Weathermaker swag and Clutch vinyl.
